Half Marathon

It was a glorious summer morning on the 24th of June. I was looking forward to participate in the 29th Munich City Run; but with a sore knee, I was not very optimistic about my chances of finishing the 21km distance. The city center was swarming with people; 17500 people had come in to participate in the 3 events as part of this festival.

At 8am, the Half Marathon was flagged off. I started off at a comfortable pace, enjoying the crowd and the atmosphere. It was inspiring to see people of all ages participate with a passion. At the 20 km mark, I made a dash to the end, which I promised myself at the start.

I was greeted with fresh apples, bananas and energy drinks at the finish line. All in all, a memorable experience, a sense of satisfaction of having challenged one's limits. I will cherish this event for a long time to come.
